Our History

Our Facilities

Our 501 (c) 3 non profit organization "Nevada Young Riders" has been providing educational, training, and competition opportunities to our Nevada youth equestrian athletes since 1997.  Our major fund-raising events are the Level II USEF, USDF, CDS, UDS rated dressage shows we host at Blue Ribbon several times a year.  We are a community partner with Clark County School District, and provide community service hours to CCSD students who volunteer for our organization.  See below for our current Dressage Prize List.

Nevada Young Riders

Nevada Young Riders is a non-profit organization that supports youth equestrian athletes at all levels.  For those exceptional equestrian athletes, this program leads to competition opportunities at FEI North American Youth Championships (NAYC). NAYC is open to jumping athletes FEI ages 12-21 and dressage athletes FEI ages 14-25. The Championships provide exciting opportunities for youth athletes to gain valuable team experience in an FEI competition environment and is considered an important steppingstone for equestrians who aspire to represent the U.S. on the international stage in their future senior careers.  For more information about our NAYC Dressage: https://www.usdf.org/competitions/competitions-championships/najyrc/new.asp

Nevada Youth Equestrian Teams

Our Nevada youth equestrian team members participate in competitive riding in both dressage and hunter/jumper disciplines.  Our most recent competition venues have included:  Desert International Horse Park, Rancho Murietta Equestrian Center, Kentucky Horse Park, Los Angeles Equestrian Center, Del Mar Horse Park, Horseman's Park, Cottonwood Farms, and our own Blue Ribbon riding facility. For more information, email NevadaYouthEquestrianTeam@gmail.com

Interscholastic Equestrian Association (IEA) Dressage & Hunt Seat Teams

Our IEA Dressage & Hunt Seat Teams are invitation-only traveling teams for riders in grade 4-12.  This national organization offers a "switch-rider" format for competitions. All riders on our Las Vegas teams must be able to provide a horse for IEA team practices.  You must be enrolled in a formal lesson program in your chosen discipline, riding at least twice a week with private/semi-private instruction.  Both our high school and middle school dressage teams won at IEA Dressage Zone 6 championships in Sherwood Oregon earlier this year and are now on their way to IEA National Finals in Tryon NC in April. Try-outs for the 2024-2025 season will be held in June and July.  For more information about the program visit:  https://www.rideiea.org  To request a try-out or get more information about our Las Vegas teams, email  NevadaYouthEquestrianTeam@gmail.com

United States Pony Club Certified Riding Center

Blue Ribbon is a certified riding center of the United States Pony Club.  This program is open to riders of all levels. It is not primarily a riding program, but a program that focuses on horsemanship using the USPC horsemanship curriculum.  Riders advance through certification ratings as they gain greater and greater proficiencies. For more information about USPC programs, visit www.ponyclub.org

USEF USDF CDS UDS level II rated Dressage Shows

Our Level II USEF, USDF, CDS, UDS rated dressage shows hosted at Blue Ribbon several times a year serve as the major fund raisers for our Nevada Youth Programs.  We host the shows with help from the Las Vegas Chapter of the California Dressage Society and many many local volunteers.  These shows allow southern Nevada dressage riders the opportunity to accumulate scores needed for regional and national competition without having to travel outside of the Las Vegas area. For more information or questions, email blueribbonshows@gmail.com
